Like any conscientious business owner, Emma likes to know where her money is going.

Pearce Marketing was founded by Emma in 2008, and has been delivering cost-effective, targeted, and measurable marketing services to small and medium sized businesses ever since. Their team of three, based in East Sussex, provides marketing planning, customer research, outsourced marketing services (such as social media ads, email, search engine optimisation and more), along with marketing training. Emma is an approved marketing consultant for several business grant funding schemes, most recently the South East Business Boost and Manufacturing Growth Programme.

But in 2014, Emma found herself spending more and more time trying to manage her business’ accounts. Cash flow became a source of daily stress with balancing when grant payments were coming in, late payments by clients, planning her own marketing spending and paying employees.

She knew there had to be a better way, and so she turned to Fresh Financials.

We knew Emma needed something to take the stress and hassle out of managing her accounts. That’s how Pearce Marketing became a first for Fresh Financials: the first company to switch completely over to Xero with us. We helped her convert and set up her accounts with Xero, provided training, and curated a selection of integrated apps that would be most helpful to Emma’s specific issues. For example, Chaser is an accounts receivable software that sends automated reminders to customers and tracks payment behaviours so Emma doesn’t have to worry about late payments impacting her cash flow. And with Float, Emma gets a cash flow forecast with real-time numbers and scenario planning!

With her accounts organised and her confidence re-built, Emma was happy to let Fresh Financials take charge of her monthly sales invoices and managing work in advance. Over the past 7 years, we’ve been communicating weekly with Emma to give her financial updates, assisting monthly with VAT and payroll, and advising on business decisions. Instead of being chained to the computer and stressing about every pound going in and out of the business, Emma is free to focus on what she’s passionate about – giving her clients confidence in their marketing and growing their businesses.
